Eventful Few Days For Dryden Eagles Athletes

The Dryden Eagles Jr Girls Basketball team had a weekend of games in Thunder Bay.

In their first match they took on the Westgate High School Tigers.

The game was close until the fourth quarter where the Eagles were on fire and won 42 to 33. Their second game wasn’t so fortunate as they faced the St. Ignatius Falcons and lost 60 to 22.

That didn’t discourage the girls though as they played their final game of the weekend against Superior High School and won 41 to 30.

The Norwossa season opens for the girls on Thursday in Kenora.

Meanwhile some decent standings for Dryden Eagles golfers in an Norwossa tournament in Red Lake.

The Girls Team Division got first place with Lindy Leclerc and Maya Nickle getting second.

For the boys, Jacob Lugli tied for third with a score of 87 on his card. The final competition of the NorWossa season will be this coming Wednesday September 21 in Kenora.
