Events Centre In Thunder Bay Moving To Next Level

Thunder Bay Mayor Keith Hobbs is celebrating after seeing the Event Centre cleared another major hurdle.
City Council has voted in favour to move onto the fifth phase of the project.
Despite considerable opposition, Hobbs says he wasn’t too concerned over the vote.
The $115-million project will move forward only if the provincial and federal governments set aside funding for the project in their upcoming budgets.
The Centre could be home to an American Hockey League team.
The Jets recently announced they are moving their AHL team from St. John’s Newfoundland to Winnipeg next season.
