Matawa Chiefs Oppose Noront Deal

Matawa Chiefs are considering legal and political options after Noront Resources purchased Cliffs chromite properties in the Ring of Fire.
They feel there has been a lack of engagement on environmental assessment.
Marten Falls Chief Bruce Achneepineskum says the chromite is on their land and they should have a voice in the sale.
He adds the recent purchase announcement goes against the First Nations declaration signed in Webequie in July of 2011.
