Expanded Bear Wise Program

The Ministry of Natural Resources is reaching out to area youth to
help them learn more about bears.
The Province has created an educational web-based book to teach kids
about bear safety techniques.
Spokesperson Jolanta Kowalski says its part of their second year ‘Bear
Wise’ initiative.
Kowalski says the program worked well last year with hundreds of
people utilizing the toll-free line.
She says it will again offer the telephone hotline and funding for communities to do bear-proofing.
