According to the Winnipeg Free Press, $1 was the price quoted to a constituent by Conservative MP Joyce Bateman for the ELA facility.
Bateman wrote to the concerned voter in her riding “that the facilty would be attractive, especially given recent investments, and the federal government is committed to offering the transfer of ownership for a nominal fee of $1.
