Labour Minister and Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Patty Hajdu is giving a special mediator four extra days in an attempt to resolve the Canada Post labour dispute.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers is accepting the move, noting it will work with the mediator.
However, the union says issues around health and safety, part-time jobs, workload and job security still need to be addressed by Canada Post.
Daily rotating strikes continue across the country as a result.
