False Statements Net Fines For Two Winnipeg Anglers

Two Winnipeg residents are facing some hefty fines as the result of a northwestern Ontario fishing trip.

In February of 2017, a conservation officer found two men on Lake of the Woods, where one claimed to have purchased a license but did not have it with him.

The man gave a false name and contact information and the second man confirmed the information.

Kyle Nichols has pleaded guilty and fined $2,000 for obstructing a fisheries officer and $250 for fishing without a license.

Drew Riddolls has been ordered to pay $750 for making a false statement.
