Deja Vu for Rick Bartolucci.
The Sudbury MPP is back as Minister of Northern Development and Mines.
Bartolucci says his goal is to strengthen this area.
Bartolucci was a long time Minister for Northern Development but was shuffled out of the position in 2007.
He’s just met with his Deputy Minister and notes he will spend the next couple of weeks in briefing to get caught up to speed on the important issues.
Bartolucci says he’s got a good team on his side and looks forward to working with Natural Resources Minister Michael Gravelle and Thunder Bay-Atiokokan MPP Bill Mauro.
He’s also rebuking claims from the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation that the Government doesn’t care about First Nations, because the Government didn’t create a stand alone Aboriginal Affairs Ministry.
Bartolucci is vowing to foster a good relationship with NAN on mining issues.
