The O.P.P. says one person was killed in a motor vehicle collision east of Kenora late last night.
Around 11:00 Wednesday night, police say an eastbound vehicle crashed into a westbound semi-tractor trailor unit about 50 kilometers east of Kenora near East Hawk Lake.
The lone occupant of the vehicle was killed in the collision, but so far the name of the deceased has not been released.
Members of the O.P.P.’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigating Unit, the Forensic Identification Unit and the Kenora and Longbow Lake fire departments assisted at the scene early this morning.
The Trans-Canada was closed for almost eight hours overnight.
