Federal Funding For Northern Groups

Five organizations are benefiting from $1.2 million in federal government money.
It will be used for economic development and for what the government calls small business growth and job creation.
The biggest benefactor is the Nishnawbe-Aski Development Fund at $960,000.
Executive Director Brian Davey says it’s money that will be used to provide loans to First Nation entrepreneurs.
Also benefiting are Thunder Bay Ventures, Matawa First Nations Management, Muskrat Dam First Nation and Lakehead University.
