The Government of Canada is out with 120-thousand dollars in funding to support recreation and sports in Red Lake.
A majority of the funds will be used to modernize community playground equipment and install a concrete pad to accommodate a new splash park.
The remaining 20-thousand dollars will help the municipality determine the feasibility of constructing a new multi-use facility, as well as identify potential and business opportunities.
Council is now looking over the results of a consultants report on the joint Arena and events centre.
