A number of First Nations in Northwestern Ontario will be getting funding from the Federal Government to develop new landfill sites and to improve water quality.
The funding comes from the Federal Infrastrucutre Program and the Ministry of Indian Affairs.
Irene Ashworth is a spokesperson for the Ministry and says landfills and waste management were made priorities due to recent concerns over water quality.
The Eagle Lake First Nation is eligible for 20-thousand dollars to drill a new well, while the Seine River First Nation will receive over a half million dollars to construct a new landfill site.
