Federal Government Still Attempting To Resolve Canada Post Labour Dispute

Labour Minister Patty Hajdu says her government is doing everything possible to help Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers reach an agreement.

The Thunder Bay-Superior North MP says she has appointed a special mediator to assist the two sides while they negotiate.

Morton Mitchnick is joining a team of federal arbitrators.

Hajdu notes she has met with the union and Canada Post to encourage both parties to continue talks.

Rotating strikes in an attempt to reach a new deal continue Thursday in Alberta, B.C. and parts of Quebec.
