Federal Minister Promising To Work Quickly On Inquiry Into Missing And Murdered Aboriginal Women

The federal Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs says the Liberals are committed to holding an inquiry into missing and murdered aboriginal women.

Carolyn Bennett says they want to get started as quickly as possible, and that will start with consulting with those mostly impacted.

That includes listening to the families and legal teams.

Bennett says pre-consultation was a reason why the Truth and Reconciliation Commission into residential schools was so successful.

She has provided no time table as to when work would start.
