The Federal Government is investing in Aboriginal Business Development in Northwestern Ontario.
FedNor has announced 60-thousand-dollars in funding that will help the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation develop, promote and deliver a minimum of 10 businesses management training mini-summits.
Deputy Grand Chief Les Louttit says business owners will be well positioned to maximize growth.
Louttit says this move continues on their efforts from the National I-Do-Business Conference that was held in Toronto in March.
He adds that up until 2.5-years ago, NAN hasn’t been directly involved in supporting local first nations businesses in the territory because they didn’t have the capacity or structure to do so.
In addition, Louttit says this funding will help the emerging development opportunities such as the Ring of Fire.
