Kenora MP Greg Rickford says the Federal Government is doing its part to make buildings more accessible in Ontario.
He says Ontario set out strict new rules but isn’t doing their part to help out.
Rickford notes he’s frustrated because the Feds are investing in this area and the province hasn’t been visible in supporting these projects.
Rickford announced $27,000 in funding Wednesday to improve accessibility at the Community Living building in Dryden.
The money will be used to repair and resurface the driveway as well as install an elevator.
Rickford says he will continue to work with local organizations and groups to ensure they are meeting the provincial standards.
He notes since 2009, the Federal Government has invested well over $200,000 in making public buildings more accessible in the Kenora riding.
