Ontario’s Minister of Education says more money is being pumped into special education.
That despite claims from local school board’s saying they are facing a shortfall this year.
In the legislature today, Liz Sandals claims funding for special education programs has gone up significantly under the Liberal government.
Sandals says her government has increased special education funding by 67 per cent since it came into office.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says it expects a one million dollar shortfall in it’s special education budget in the upcoming school year.
Sandals adds overall special education funding has risen by a billion dollars since 2002.
