The Liberal government is keeping a big promise to Shoal Lake #40 First Nation.
During a tour of the region, Kenora MP Bob Nault said the Federal government is reconfirming its commitment to build the Freedom Road.
Nault says it’s their intention to shortly give the community an official letter of support for one-third funding.
The promise was made during the election campaign and comes with a price tag of $10-million.
The all-weather road connect Shoal Lake #40 First Nation to the mainland and the Trans-Canada Highway.
A ceremony is being planned by the First Nation for June.
Nault says he will be pushing for the appearance of Prime Minister Trudeau at the event.
