Tire stores in Ontario are trying to encourage more drivers to make the switch to winter tires.
The Tire and Rubber Association says winter tire shipments have increased 25% over last year.
Communications Manager Carolyn Goard says legislation requiring insurance companies to offer discounts for using winter tires may be playing a part.
Goard says they also believe motorists are getting a better understanding of performance results from winter tires.
About 56% of Ontario drivers now use winter tires regularly.
