Feds Fire Back

The Federal Government is firing back at a United Nations official who took it to task over its treatment of Attawapiskat and native communities in general.
A spokesperson for Aboriginal Affairs Minister John Duncan is accusing James Anaya of spreading inaccurate information for the sake of publicity.
Michelle Yao says the Government is focused on the needs of the residents of Attawapiskat, not publicity stunts.
Anaya issued a statement saying he had written to the government to express his deep concern about the dire social and economic condition of Attawapiskat.
He has no binding authority, but aims to shame governments into action by bringing unacceptable conditions to light.
