The federal Government has launched the $10-million National Recreational Trails program.
Kenora MP and Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford says the 2-year funding agreement will expand and improve the snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle and non-motorized trail system across the county.
Rickford is encouraging local trail organizations to submit their proposals and notes the deadline is August 15th.
He anticipates between 150 to 200 projects to be supported.
The funding will help build and renew multi-purpose trails for walking, running, cross-country skiing, biking, all-terrain vehicle use and snowmobiling.
