Feds Out With Small Community Infrastructure Fund

Smaller communities in northern Ontario won’t be left out when it comes to federal infrastructure funding.

The Northern Ontario Liberal Caucus says it has convinced the Finance Minister to make up to $2-billion available.

Kenora MP Bob Nault says the money is intended for communities with little or no tax base.

Nault is hoping the government keeps the program going and invests more money in the coming years.

Nault says the government is also working on plans to expand broadband and cell service to communities that currently have little or no service.

He notes if they want business to be booming in this region, we need reliable Internet.
