The Ontario Public Service Employees Union is trying to get local municipalities to support its latest anti-privatization campaign.
It’s called ‘We Own It’, and is aimed at keeping services like the LCBO in public hands.
Mike Schram and Derrick LaMarche are local OPSEU and they say this region is already paying the price for the privatization of highway maintenance service.
Schram says they have already received a positive reception to the campaign in Fort Frances and Thunder Bay, and is hoping other municipal councils endorse it by adopting a resolution of support.
