Feds Transfer Wharves To Kenora

The City of Kenora is now managing its own wharves.
Kenora-Rainy River MP Bob Nault was on hand yesterday for the official transfer from the federal government to Kenora.
Nault says having the port run locally will allow it to function in a more commercial and cost-effective manner.
The transfer agreement includes a 1.5 million dollar contribution from Transport Canada to offset initial operating costs.
