The exchange rate is keeping many Canadian shoppers in their own communities.
A new survey from RetailMeNot.ca finds 66% giving up on shopping in the U.S. altogether.
While it’s good news for Canadian retailers, spokesperson Kristen Larreau says shoppers still have concerns about the economy.
She says Canadians are looking at making their money go further and aren’t spending as much.
Larreau says that’s why some have been turning to coupon sites in hopes of finding savings.
The survey also found 82% wish Canadian retailers would price-match U.S. retailers.
