As the province announced electricity cost hikes, Fort Frances residents will not have to dig as deep to pay.
Fort Frances Power Corporation CEO Jim Kibiuk says an agreement with the mill on electricity delivery has given local electricity users a break.
Kibiuk says there are two components to the cost of electricity.
Those are the commodity price set by the Ontario Energy Board and the delivery price which is lower here…

With both the commodity price and delivery cost factored in, Kibiuk says Fort Frances Power Corporation customers will only see a hike of 5.4 percent.
In other areas, the hikes are as much as 15 percent starting next month.
