A key component of the curriculum at Pelican Falls School has resulted
in the creation of a hand-made, 10-foot long birch bark canoe.
Instructor Darren Lentz says its tradition to present the canoe to a
major post-secondary institution.

A special ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday April 19th in Thunder Bay.
Lentz says the 16-students also published a book on their cultural
learning.
