Final Report on Truth And Reconciliation Commission Released

The final report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission has been unveiled.

According to Justice Murray Sinclair, the report weighs over 25 pounds and recounts the history of the residential school system and looks at the legacy it had on it’s survivors.

Sinclair says Volume 6 looks at reconciliation itself and what Canadian society can do to help repair the damage caused by the residential school system.

Other volumes look at the Metis experience in residential schools and also the missing children, thousands of who were buried in unmarked graves.

Sinclair delivered the report today along with fellow commissioners Chief Wilton Littlechild and Dr. Marie Wilson.
