An update on the current financial situation in Dryden will be provided at tonight’s open meeting.
City Manager Joe van Koeverden says City Council has some tough times ahead.
Van Koeverden says the February goale to submit the 2013 budget is no longer possible, due to the recent assessment of the Domtar Mill and its operations in Dryden.
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation put a $14 million number on the mill, which is a far cry from the $36 million the city had anticipated.
That has left Dryden with a $1-million shortfall.
Also on the agenda tonight is a presentation from the Dryden Development Corporation and its current activities.
The public meeting starts at 7 o’clock at City Hall.
