Mining Sector Based On Metal Prices

Northerners must keep a close eye on metal prices as mining continues to be a possible econonmic driver in our area.
That warning from Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission geologist John Mason at the annual Kenora District Municipal Association conference.
Mason says junior mining companies are having a difficult time getting started.
Mason adds even though there have been excellent resources found in the Ring of Fire, it’s still going to take some time before it’s fully operational.
On the plus side, Mason sites the Rubicon Project and the Bruce Channel Project by Goldcorp should be up and running by the end of this year.
He adds there are about 9-15 projects currently running, which contain a variety of metals.
