Fort Frances Man In U.S. Court Today

A Fort Frances man is in custody in North Dakota on charges of trying to smuggle American guns into Canada.
The accused is 33-year-old Shawn Hartnell.
Court documents claim Hartnell told undercover Canadian police he could get them assault rifles, and bring them into Canada by
snowmobile.
It was a sting operation that ended with his arrest at a hotel in Grand Forks.
Hartnell is due to appear today at a detention hearing in that North Dakota city.
