Fire Activity Remains Steady Across Region

It was an active weekend for fire crews across northwestern Ontario with seven new blazes reported.

All of the blazes were in the Thunder Bay, Nipigon and Fort Frances districts but none pose any threat.

There are currently 32 active fires in the region.

Two are considered not under control.

Two are being held, five are under control and 23 are being observed.

The forest fire hazard is predominately high with areas of low to moderate scattered throughout the region.
