Residents of Sandy Lake First Nation, evacuated because of smoke near their community last week, are back home.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says fires that were a concern to the remote community remain quiet, allowing the 650-residents housed in hotels in Fort Frances and Thunder Bay to return.
Out of province crews from Saskatchewan and New Brunswick were also sent home on the weekend.
The forest fire hazard is low across the northwest.
