Fire Fighters Association Hoping To Sign Formal Agreement For Fire Hall Room

The Dryden Fire Fighters Association is hoping to work with Council to reach a lease or purchase agreement for the Association Room at Fire Hall #1.

Association President Chris Stoiber says the request is more of a housekeeping item in order to officially take control and responsibility of the space.

Stoiber notes that up to this point they have always relied on a gentlemen’s agreement.

Stoiber says firefighters rely on the room to decompress after an emergency incident, stressing their volunteer members don’t want to take the daily trauma they go through back to their own home.

He adds it also allows their members to come together and share stories, techniques and concerns, as well as reviewing how they handle certain situations.

Council has agreed to work with the Association to discuss the finer points of any potential deal.
