Staffing issues have suddenly plagued the Fort Frances Fire Department,
however a similar problem won’t occur in Dryden anytime soon.
Fort Fire officials are up in arms after Council quietly decided to
reduce the number of full-time positions from 10 to 9.
For years Dryden has relied on part-time firefighters and 2 full-time
management positions, a system that has worked well.
Local officials say the issue has become a hot issue in Fort Frances
because firefighters there have more responsibility including first
response duties.
