Another tragedy for the troubled Pikangikum First Nation as the
community school was destroyed by a fire on the weekend.
Director of the Pikangikum Education Authority, Dean Peters says they
still aren’t sure if, or how students will be able to finish their school
year.
Peters says fortunately other buildings nearby were spared.
The Federal Government has promised funding for a new school but there
is no word on when construction might start.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
