Pikangikum-school year over?

The director of the Pikangikum Education Authority says he still doesn’t know if students in his community will be able to finish their school year.

Over the weekend, the Pikangikum School and several portable classrooms were destroyed by fire.

Dean Peters says they really don’t have anywhere to house
the students at this time.

N003 Q: …daily basis. (14 secs.)

Peters is hoping they will have somewhere to hold classes for the over 700 students by the fall.

The federal government had promised funding for a new school, but Peters says he has no idea when construction might begin.
