For the first time in 15 years, the Ministry of Natural Resources has plans to update its fire management strategy.
The proposed regulations will govern how forest fires will be fought in Ontario.
Caroline Knight, a spokesperson for Natural Resources Minister John Snobelen, says the strategy will give firefighters and their managers a clearer direction when fighting fires.
She adds it will address things such as when to attack a fire aggressively and how long a fire will be allowed to burn over a given area.
