The Dryden Fire Service is taking part in a Canadian study on smoke alarms.
Information Officer Reagan Breeze says over the next month, they will be going door to door making sure folks have working smoke alarms and replacing them for free.
Breeze says the data they collect will go to the Canadian Fire Chiefs.
Dryden is one of five communities in Ontario selected for this study.
Breeze the initiative, sponsored by Gillons’ Insurance, is all about promoting fire safety.
Breeze says smoke alarms should be changed every 10-years.
