The federal government has proposed several changes which should make it easier for owners of long guns to keep their firearms.
The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters says people who have a Possession Only Licence will be able to re-new it, even if it has expired.
Greg Ferrant is a spokesperson for the OFAH and says the new regulations could affect more than 100 thousand firearms owners.

Ferrant says previously, gun owners could not re-new their Possession Only Licence, and had to upgrade to a Possession and Aquisition Licence.
The new regulations are scheduled to go into effect as of March 28th.
