The Dryden Fire Service is once again reminding homeowners to check their wood burning appliances and ensure they are properly cleaned.
The reminder follows a chimney and wood stove fire at a Meadows Road home Friday evening.
Firefighters arrived to flames coming from the chimney and smoke inside the home.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire and damage was limited.
It wasn’t an easy fight as the bitter cold temperatures took over.
The cold caused mechanical problems for one of the pumpers and Bert’s towing was called in to assist.
Two other responding vehicles required small repairs as well.
