Young Drivers Pleased With New Fines

Cell phones aren’t the only distraction on the road.
That’s the message Centre Director for Young Drivers in Dryden and Kenora, Maria Bagdonas is delivering following word of new provincial legislation.
Starting March 18th distracted driving fines will increase from $155-$280.
Bagdonas says distracted driving legislation also applies to eating or drinking behind the wheel or even carrying on a conversation.
Bagdonas stresses it’s critical that drivers pay full attention to the road, especially during the current conditions.
She adds, If you feel you must be doing business on your mobile while driving, then it’s a good idea to invest in hands free technology.
