The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Ministry of Labour, the Provincial Police and the Coroner’s office are now investigating the death of an Alberta man, fighting a wild fire in northwestern Ontario.
The Kehwein Cree First Nation says Jerry Gadwa died last Thursday during fire suppression efforts near Red Lake.
Gadwa was in his 40’s and leaves behind a 10-year-old son.
The circumstances behind his death haven’t been released.
