Firefly Receives Funding To Expand Virtual Program

Firefly is on the receiving end of $25,000 from Bell Lets Talk.

Ashley Apland is a clinical manager and says the money will be used for their virtual mental health service.

“We’re not hiring new people with this funding, but we’ll be able to expand our menu of ways to receive services,” explains Apland.

“Previously we only offered face-to-face services, whereas now we’re encouraging virtual services due to the pandemic, however, we want to continue to offer virtual, as an option, for services.”

Apland says they found out about the funding earlier this year and the COVID-19 pandemic made them go to a virtual model sooner rather than later.
