The Canada Day long weekend is being kicked off with a
high fire hazard warning across the region.
Ten new forest fires were reported in the Northwest fire
district on Wednesday, and more are expected in the coming
days.
Fire informatin officer Debbie McLean says it’s going to
be a busy weekend for fire ranger crews.

McLean adds they’re also planning on sending additional
resources to Fort McMurray.
The extra staff will help the fire ranger crews who are
already posted out west.
