Charges against a man from Woodstock, accused of killing a 26-year-old Shoal Lake man have been upgraded to first-degree murder.
John Douglas Robinson was originally charged with second-degree murder in the disappearance of Clifford Fair, who has been missing for a month.
The 42-year-old is also charged with indignity to a dead body.
Fair moved from Northwestern Ontario to Woodstock several years ago.
Police have recovered human remains from the backyard of a home where Robinson lived.
Robinson will return to court by video on December 1st.
