First Good Shot Of Winter Is Coming

The entire region will soon be covered in a deep blanket of snow.

Snowfall warnings are already in place in Red Lake, Ear Falls and Kenora.

CKDR Meterologist Bill Laidlaw says over the next three days, a total of 20-centimetres of snow is expected to fall.

He says the wind will start to pick up Monday night from the northeast, which means the brunt of the storm will be Tuesday.

Laidlaw adds there will also be widespread drifting and blowing snow due to high winds.

He stresses travel will be a real issue on Tuesday and the clean-up will be able to start on Wednesday.

Laidlaw says the cause of the potential mess is a low system chugging its way across the Prairies.
