A man in Sioux Lookout has been fined 35 hundred dollars for a fishing violation.
Court heard on December 10th 2017, Justin Young was observed by conservation officers fishing through the ice on Big Vermilion Lake and had seven Lake Trout.
Enhanced regulations have been in place for Lake Trout on Big Vermilion Lake since 2004 due to it being a sensitive and slow growing species.
Young plead guilty and was fined for angling during the closed season for Lake Trout.
He also received a two-year fishing license suspension.
