A Conservative leadership hopeful is traveling Northwestern Ontario drumming up support.
Jim Flaherty made a stop in Dryden this morning and he says one of his priorities is attracting more medical professionals to the region.
Flaherty says the establishment of a Northern Medical School is a good first step however he wants to accelerate getting people from other parts of the world to practice and sit on Medical boards.
He adds improving the region’s infrastructure is high on his priority list and hints that twinning Highway 17 could be a possibility down the road.
John Tory and Frank Klees are also in the running to replace Leader Ernie Eves.
Tory members will vote September 18th.
The deadline for memberships is Saturday.
