The Leader of Ontario’s biggest group of First Nations says he has to take time off to properly grieve his son’s death.
Grand Chief Stan Beardy of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation is mourning the loss of his only child, Daniel Beardy.
The 19-year-old died Sunday after being found bloodied and unconscious on the Fort William Reserve.
23-year-old Corey Wesley of Greenstone appeared in Court today on a charge of manslaughter and has been remanded for a bail hearing on Friday.
Beardy was a goaltender with the Fort William First Nation North Stars of the SIJHL.
